Sick Madness!!

Well the past few days have been very hard and stressful on me, but I am sure much worse for my sick lil ones :( It all started last Tuesday... I dropped them off at daycare and when I went to pick them up they told me that Alivia had a terrible cough.... We cam home and she took a very long nap and when she woke up her temp was 102.5 *yikes*... I gave her tylenol and it went down, but she still had an awful cough. Wednesday the cough and low grade fever continued. I did not take her to the doctor b/c I figured they would just tell me it was a cold and there was nothing they could do, like they normally do. By Wednesday night we knew it was more than just a cold, so I took her to the doctor on Thurday morning. We had- had the same Dr. at Medical Associates since Jameson was born... Dr. David... she was the Dr. on call at the hospital the day he was born and we liked her so much we stuck with her after. She was a amazing. Very caring and always took the time to explain things to us. She moved away right after Alivia was born and it really made us sad. We switched to Dr. Neeru and she has been nothing but awful. Always rushing us and not very friendly. I took Alivia there on Thursday. Like always Dr. Neeru seemed to be in a hurry. She was certain Alivia had a virus that was making her have a cough and fever. There was one going around that makes the eyes all goopy and causes a cough, fever, runny nose etc. ... so she prescribes us eye drops and sent us on our way. I kept asking her, "are you sure?, she sounds really congested" and she listened again and said yes, but that she wanted to see us back on Monday. Meanwhile in my head I knew there was something more wrong than just some virus. She handed me a paper on RSV, and I was thinking if she is going to hand me a paper about it, shouldnt she do the test, if that is in the back of her mind?! So we went home and I knew this wasnt right. Alivia could barely breath... she was so congested and was throwing up b/c she was coughing so hard. By this time Jameson started in with the coughing and fever too. We took them both to go see Dr. Peterson (jon knew him from grand mound) the next morning. This would have been Friday. We were in the waiting room and Alivia was coughing so hard she was throwing up and turning bright red, so they took us back right away. They could not believe that we got sent home the day before and that she did not do an RSV test. Dr. Peterson knew right away that is what it was. We had to go to the hospital to get a test just to be sure, and it was positive. Jon and I were so angry that we got sent home the day before. Not even 24 hours later our little girl tested positive for rsv. Babies die from this, so we were very upset with our old doctor. If we would have listened to her, something bad could have happened. It makes you wonder how many other patients she sent home with RSV. Dr. Peterson prescribed both Jameson and Alivia steriods and breathing treatments and gave Alivia an antibiotic also. Thank goodness for him! So the past couple of days have been hectic. Doing breathing treatments, giving them their medicinces, and just trying to give them the attention they need since they dont feel good. Alivia has been doing really good. She is so happy even though she does not feel good. Although she is barely sleeping at night since that is when the coughing is at it's worst. Jameson is very crabby and needs alot of attention. He wants to be held alot and is very tired, but cannot sleep well because of the steriods. I am very stressed out right now. It is alot to take care of 2 very sick babies, plus keep the house half way clean, and keep up on my homework. Jonathan has been wonderful helping me out. I am thankful to have him.
